Power Vinyasa
The "meat and potatoes" of Mountain Flow Yoga. Power Vinyasa Yoga is an incredibly athletic practice ideal for building strength, grace, stamina and agility. In Vinyasa Yoga each movement is linked with the breath, we flow through the asanas linking each sequence with a sun salutation. This keeps the body warm and engaged throughout the practice. This beautiful, dynamic flow maintains a playful and dance like quality. This class is appropriate for practitioners of all levels but some familiarity with Yoga and/or a reasonable level of physical fitness are reccommended for an enjoyable experience. Levels 1, all levels, and 3. For PV 3 please be comfortable with crow & inversions and have at least 6-12 months of steady practice.

Power Hour (See Power Vinyasa)
A vibrant and lively class--perfect for athletic yogis of all levels--this class is sure to energize you.
Gentler PV Flow
While a gentler version, this is still Power Vinyasa class, so we still move, but we move in a gentler flow incorporating moon salutations and space creating asanas to build flexibility and balance.

Restorative Flow
A flowing sequence warms and engages the body while special attention is paid to hip opening, shoulder opening, ham-string opening, building core strength and creating spinal flexibility. 60 minutes of PV flow will leave you feeling open and unlocked. The final 30 minutes will be spent calming mind with restorative Yoga poses: A calming, therapeutic style that involves passive stretching while supported by props. Restorative yoga quiets the nervous system and deepens the relaxation response. It helps to reduce anxiety and depression, facilitate restful sleep, bolster immunity, and promote healing of soft tissue injuries. This class is ideal for pregnancy, injuries, older and beginning students, and as a complement to a more vigorous yoga practice.

Bring Your Child to Your Yoga Practice
Bring your tot or infant (and your sense of humor) to a Power Hour of Yoga and get a chance to fit yoga into your day. Moms and Dads practice, while the kids watch, play, and socialize together. It's a welcome environment for parents who otherwise have a hard time fitting yoga into their schedules. Is it relaxing? Not always. But nothing builds strength like having a toddler wrapped around your leg while you try to balance in airplane. If your child's a little older, s/he is welcome to roll out a mat and play around with his/her own Yoga practice. $3.00/child.

Pre-Natal (Read Below and See Gentle Flow)
Health-care providers agree that maintaining physical fitness during pregnancy is essential. Healthy, fit women can and should maintain a regular Yoga practice throughout pregnancy. Thus we do not offer special Pre-Natal classes: we encourage you to come to our regularly scheduled classes. I practiced almost daily during my very recent pregnancy and not at all during my first pregnancy, so I really understand the difference and the benefits of maintaining a regular practice during pregnancy. These are some of the benefits that I experienced: more control over weight gain; increased mobility, flexibility and balance for maneuvering with the belly; significantly less pain in the hips as they opened; zero pain in the legs, feet & back; an easier time sleeping; an easier time maintaining regular breath as my belly compressed my lungs; a significantly faster recovery (I was back in the studio just 3 weeks after delivery and I felt amazing); zero incontinence after delivery (engaging mula bandha is like doing Keigals during the entire practice), and a much quicker return to my regular jeans & frame. There are some asanas that must be modified during pregnancy; so please let your teacher know that you are pregnant and she will point out the modifications to you (no closed twisting, now belly back bends, modified core work, side-lying Svasana). If you are new to Yoga, start out in our Level 0 or Gentle Flow classes.
